CSA Program Information

The Miller Farm houseFrom our family to yours, please allow us to say thank you for your interest in the Miller Farms Community Supported Agricultural program. Miller Farms has been a working farm since 1949, and we believe our 2010 program is not only one of the best in Colorado but one of the best in the nation. We are proud to be able to share our harvest with you.

The following program description should answer all of your questions, but if you need more detailed information, please feel free to call us at (970) 785-6133, or visit our contact form. Again, thanks for your interest in becoming a part of our farm!

The partnership we offer our members differs from most CSA programs across America. We consider our members to be part of our family. We want you to know where and how your produce is grown and to visit our farm as many times as you can, especially for our Fall Harvest Festival, so that your family can personally experience the fun of picking your own produce directly from our fields and enjoy the safe and wholesome play areas we have constructed on the property. If, however, you are unable to visit us regularly, we have dozens of area locations where you can go to pick up your freshly picked produce.

Our CSA membership starts on June 15th and runs for 18 weeks or until October 31st, whichever comes first (Depending on your subscription date). This year, we are allowing subscription to begin on January 1, 2010. We are happy to announce that we are leaving our membership prices at 2008-2009 levels. A full membership costs $600.00 per season, and a half membership costs $400.00. We highly recommend the full membership as it has a couple of perks that the half membership does not offer. We do allow payments beginning from your subscription date through July 1st, 2010 for all memberships that begin on June 15th, and we also offer pro-rated shares for those who join us later in the season.

We feel that our CSA membership has so much more to offer than most typical farm packages because …

  • When you join the Miller Farms CSA, you get to choose what produce you want with every visit. Most CSA programs pre-package produce for you, which means you may take home items that you and your family may not use.
  • Typical CSA programs have limited locations for you to pick up your produce. Although we use our farm as a primary pickup location, you may also pickup your produce from any of the 40+ farmers markets we do along the Front Range each year (please keep in mind that occasionally we may be unable to make it to a particular farmer’s market but you can always come visit us for that week’s items).
  • Our shares are very generous. Most CSA full share packages feed only 2-4 people per week, but our half share membership feeds 2-3 people per week and our full share feeds 4-6 per week.
  • With a full membership, we will allow you to get additional produce for canning when it is in season. You will be able to take home an extra bushel of sweet corn, and 50lbs of potatoes and onions. This is in addition to what you get during your weekly visits! The exception to this is if you are splitting a membership.
  • Both full and half membership also entitles you to one free admission for a family of four to our 14th Annual Fall Harvest Festival, a $50 value for a family of four that begins on September 1st. This also includes the Haunted Hay ride. Additional guests are $10 each, which is less than normal entry prices.

***A visit to our Harvest Festival offers yet another opportunity to pick your own produce (in addition to your regular weekly allotment), play on our huge playground, and enjoy one of Colorado’s favorite festivals!

Pumpkins at harvestHere is what to expect after you have paid for your membership: You will receive a business/membership letter that you will present at the farmer's market or at the farm to receive your weekly produce--and at the Fall Festival/Haunted Hay ride to get your free entry. Please keep in mind that our produce varies from week to week.

Our farm and our family are renowned for their honesty and integrity. We believe this is the only way to run a family business and a family farm. At our markets, and here at the farm, we promote family fun and a safe, friendly environment. We hope you take advantage of our CSA program as a wonderful way to enjoy fresh Colorado produce and support a local family farm!

Sincerely,
The Miller Family
